Ing. Gilbert Nii Aflah Quaye
Regional Chief Manager
Ing. Gilbert Nii Aflah Quaye is the Chief Manager for Ashanti North Region.He has over 32 years’ working experience in the development and management of civil engineering infrastructure with specialisation in irrigation and water resources projects. He is experienced in project planning, designing of water supply systems, irrigation and contract administration, including tendering, evaluation and the implementation of both local and foreign contracts. He is also experienced in major Contract negotiations.
Prior to joining GWCL in May 1995, Ing. Quaye worked with the Ghana Irrigation Development Authority, serving in many senior positions on the Engineering Team of the Authority. Ing. Quaye became Regional Chief Manager in October 2015. Prior to that, he served as Acting Regional Chief Manager for Northern and Ashanti North regions and Acting Chief Manager for the Planning and Development department at the Head Office. Ing. Quaye also served in the past as Head of Projects, Head of Planning and Development and Manager in charge of Project Construction and Contract Management with GWCL. From September 2000 to March 2001, he was the Water Engineer at the Water Sector Restructuring Secretariat in Accra. He was the Counterpart Engineer of GWCL to Messrs OTUI Consultants from 1995 to 1997 on the ATMA Development and Investment Programme and the Rehabilitation and Replacement of the Kpong-Tema-Accra pipeline.
Ing. Quaye is a Senior Member of the Ghana Institution of Engineers. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Science and Technology, Ghana, a Post-Graduate Diploma in Irrigation from the Instituto Agronomico Mediterraneo in Italy and a Master of Science degree in Engineering Hydrology from the International Institute of Infrastructure and Environmental Engineering, Netherlands.
