Chief Manager
(Low Income Consumer Support Department)
Mrs. Faustina Boachie is the Chief Manager responsible for fostering inclusive water service delivery particularly in Low-Income Urban Communities (LIUCs). She possesses the strong social skills needed to build relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. With dedication and support from external donors, she succeeded in increasing water connections to many pro-poor communities, ensuring both direct and indirect access to clean water.
Mrs. Boachie began her career with Ghana Water Ltd. (GWL) in 1999 as a Commercial Officer. Six years later, she became Obuasi’s first female District Manager. In 2009, she moved to Accra to manage GWL’s key accounts as a Customer Care Manager. During this time, she was given additional responsibilities as a Pro-Poor Coordinator. Understanding the impact of limited access to piped water and its related health risks, she was motivated to advocate strongly for pro-poor services.
With support from the Board of Directors, Top Management and Chief Managers, she has successfully transformed a one-person desk unit into a fully-fledged department which collaborates with a wide range of donors such as the World Bank, WaterWorX, UNICEF, UN Habitat, WSUP and Water for Life to enhance its initiatives and outreach.
Mrs. Boachie holds a degree in Economics from the University of Cape Coast and an MBA from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration. She is an active member of the African Water Association as well as the International Water Association.
She is also a Chartered member of the Chartered Institute of Economists, Ghana.
