Ms. Maria Aba Lovelace-Johnson, a product of Wesley Girls’ High School, is a Certified Food Safety Consultant and a Lead Auditor of Food Safety Management Systems. She holds a BSc. (Hons) degree in Biological Sciences from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Ghana, MSc. degree in Food Technology-Quality Assurance from University of Reading, UK, a Master’s degree in Governance and Leadership from Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), and a Certificate in French Proficiency from Ghana Institute of Languages.

Ms. Lovelace-Johnson has undergone a number of Food Safety Training programs such as Assurance of Food Safety and Quality Control (Hyogo International Centre, Japan), Applied Intermediate HACCP (Royal Institute of Public Health, UK), Food Safety Risk Analysis (University of Greenwich, UK), International Food Laws and Regulations (University of Michigan, USA), Participatory Risk Analysis (University of Pretoria, South Africa), Microbial Contamination of Foods Rapid Detection (City University of New York, USA), Food Processing and Technology (Purdue University, USA), Temporary Food Establishments (University of Tennessee, USA).

Ms. Lovelace-Johnson has been with the Food and Drugs Authority since 1998. She has, in the past nineteen (19) years, risen through the ranks and is now a Chief Regulatory Officer.
