THE CENTRAL REGION
The Central Region
Central Region occupies a total size of 9,826km². The region shares borders on the east with the Greater Accra Region, on the North with Ashanti and Eastern Regions and on the West with Western Region. With the exception of Upper Denkyira West, Assin North Municipal and Assin South District Assemblies, GWCL is represented in the seventeen (17) remaining urban centres of the districts.
Water Supply Systems
Currently, the Region operates and maintains a total of nine (9) water supply production systems with an installed capacity of 136,830m³/d. Those systems are managed by the Operations Manager with support from nine (9) station officers. Dunkwa and Twifo Praso however rely on groundwater as the source of production whilst the remaining systems are surface based treatment systems.

The Central Region has ten (10) operational districts namely: Saltpond, Winneba, Swedru, Dunkwa, Elmina, Essakyir, Buduburam, Bisease, Cape Coast North and Cape Coast South.
Cape Coast North District
